Red slippers

"Hey, we meet again, after a year. You still look the same as ever, but I'm an inch taller and my hair grew longer. My skirt is shorter now. Mummy, can I get a new floral skirt, please? I wonder how you were like when you were still here, since I didn't get a chance to meet you at all. My daddy called you grandma, that makes you really old to me, cause I think my daddy is old already. Hmm.... what should I call you? Great grandma? Daddy, do I call her great grandma? Ahh.. this naming thing is so complicated.  Popo will do?"

little girl's thought.

I was afraid to be alone, now I'm scared that's how I'd like it to be

Consider a man riding a bicycle.
Whoever he is, we can say three things about him.
We know he got on the bicycle and started to move.
We know that at some point he will stop and get off.
Most important of all, we know that
if at any point between the beginning and the end of the journey
he stops moving and does not get off the bicycle, he will fall off.
That is a metaphor for that journey through life of any living things.

pure candid.

I Love You Anyway - Boyzone

the forever cheerful Wen Yee gonna emo for one day ):

you looked so young here, and I looked like crap -_-

When you're gone
I miss every single thing about you ):

I was browsing through the family photo album just now. And I realised I never take a single picture with you before. It's been exactly a year, but it felt like it was all yesterday's. I didn't even get to say goodbye...

to my grandfather, with love (:

Just Dance - Lady Gaga ft. Colby O Donis

Every person born in this world
represents something new,
something that never existed before,
something original
and unique.

I have never seen her smile so happily since that day.
We all miss him, very very much....

Hero - Mariah Carey

Special once, not anymore

I heard heavy footsteps stomping near. My bedroom's door swung off. I knew that was her, but I ignored. She stood at the door there for few seconds. And her grumblings broke the silence and had me stoning there in front of my books. I did not take note of anything that was flashing out of her mouth, because I did not even want to listen to her. She still went on scolding and grumbling knowing that I was not even listening to her.
I stood up, switched off my computer, and sat next to her. Our eyes met. Her lips joined, finally. I told her that I was not feeling well. She left my room immediately without saying a word. I was left alone in my room, again, felt asleep eventually.
Someone's knocking on the door. I thought it was a dream, but no. I woke up reluctantly and trudged towards the door, feeling knackered and merely conscious. Her hand was holding a cup and a white plastic bag. I fell back flat on my cosy bed, back to my beauty sleep.
The next morning, I was not feeling any better. I felt like puking. I knew I was really sick. I needed medicine. I took a sip of water from the cup next to my bed and swallowed 2 panadols, and again my eyelids joined.
My stomach rumbled. I had not eaten for a day. I needed food desperately. I dragged myself to the kicthen, passed by the bathroom. She was washing the bedsheets that I had puked on last night. Without saying anything, she handed me a bowl of porridge. She knew I was hungry. She knows me.....
I am sorry for not paying much attention on you.

Second Chance - Faber Drive

I woke up from my afternoon nap, and you slept back for eternity and never lie a single breath on my palms. No pulse, no BMC, no breathing...... am I that cold-hearted? why didn't I cry a single tear? I wonder. everyone did except me, the only one standing there motionlessly.

the next day you left, I still could go to school like it's the most normal thing in the world. and still having hell lots of fun in school with my friends, langhing, joking, chit-chatting all together.

throughout the three days, all I felt was tiredness. grief? condolence? not that I'm not sad about you leaving, but then I didn't feel the absence of yours. I didn't feel that you were leaving me, for real. I didn't feel that you're gone and never coming back. I didn't feel that I won't be seeing you again forever and ever. I didn't feel that I've lost you.

it's a good thing after all. you've lived life for 76 years and you died peacefully with no regret. before you left, you kept reminding us '今年郭家不顺,万事要小心' never will I forget.

you who told me that smoking was bad. you who told me that you were a smoker. you who told me that smoking spoilt your lungs. you who told me that if you were to die one day, cigarettes are definitely the killer. you who told me that people who have touched cigars were those who were complete idiots. yes, I agree. they're such dumb ass!

Get well soon grandpa!

I browsed through all the photo albums I have in the cupboard. I can't find a single picture with you since I was 9 years old. It's sad, really sad. All the old pictures I took with you last time, I was the innocent little girl and you're the oh-so-cool fella. You who taught me how to speak Hakka since young.

Everytime I hand you my school report book, you put on your old-looking spectacles and read it carefully for 30 minutes. . . . . . . slowly walking towards your room. 'Mmm, very good.' you say it with a big smile on your face. I smile back with a RM 50 note in my hand. This is the moment when I know that everything I've done is a success.

3.30 a.m. I was downstair doing my revision for my blardy exams. Your room door opened silently. I turned back and looked at you not saying anything. Silence for 5 seconds. You called me to go upstairs and sleep. I didn't listen and continue with my revision. The door closed. I realised that the lights in your room didn't go off til early morning. You didn't sleep knowing I was staying up the night. I felt your company even if you were in your room and I was at the dining table. Your presence broke through the concrete wall. Thank you.

You are getting skinnier day by day in the hospital. You went there the second day I was in OBML. The whole time I was having hell lots of fun at OBML, and there you are suffering in pain and pressure. And you told my parents not to tell me until my camp ended. I burst into tears on the way to hospital cause of you and post camp depression. U1234, your ward number. Looking at the skinny and bony and weak you, as if my heart has broken into pieces. You hardly eat anything grandma cooked for you, just one or two bites.

Heading to hospital two rounds a day has became a daily routine to me. Seeing you gasping for air makes me cry. Looking at your chest, I can see your ribcage; looking at your legs, it's nothing else but bones. And you refuse to eat anything.

What can I do to ease your pain?

I miss the sound of you unlocking the doors every single morning
I miss watching you watering the plants in the garden
I miss you nagging me everytime I stay up late
I miss you arguing with grandma about everything
I miss you scolding the kids when they left the TV on
I miss the peanuts that you used to cook
I miss reading newspaper with you in the living room
I miss the noise of your radio every night
I miss you saying that I'm too dark for a girl
I miss you nagging me to eat rice
I miss your Hakka mee =)
I miss you fixing my alarm clock whenever it's not working

Get well soon!
I'm waiting for you to come home for Christmas!

By the way, I miss OBML and friends like crazy.......
I'm so going back there =)
